Dodgeville Lioness (D1)
Dodgeville, WI 53533
Club Information
Dodgeville Lioness Club was chartered December 4, 1978. Membership meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Stonefield Apartments.
Our biggest service project is the Iowa County Empty Stocking Project. We provide one new toy and serveral used toys to all County children whose parents are referred by the schools or Iowa Co Department of Social Services. We spend our meeting night in November buying approximately $3500 worth of new toys which are distributed in December. Money for these toys comes from the people and businesses in Iowa County.
We give two $300 scholarships to High School Seniors; donate to the Lions Eye Bank of WI, WLF, Leader Dog, District Youth Exchange, District Care Project, Hodan Center, Free Clinic and other local projects.
We sell pies, either by the slice or whole pies, at the Dodgeville Lions Antique and Flea Market in June and August. We also work at a Pizza Hut Buffet and Culvers and make a share of the sales. We are also very active in Vision Screening at the Elementary Schools, St. Joseph's and at Health Fairs, etc.
With 16 members, we are a very active club and provided many services to the people of the Dodgeville area.
